I was asked to design the logo for the launch of a new film series called Nine for IX.
The nine-part documentary series from the producers of 30 for 30 is executive produced by Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, a former SportsCenter anchor, and Jane Rosenthal.
Nine for IX film topics include an intimate look at Pat Summitt, college sports’ most successful coach ever; the largely unknown history of Katarina Witt and her link with East Germany’s secret police; and the focus of sex in the marketing of female athletes. The series is scheduled to premiere on July 2 on ESPN and the films will air over consecutive Tuesday evenings at 8 p.m. ET.
I was asked to design a logo for ESPN's new permanent installation on Bristol, CT campus honoring the best sports fans.
The mission of the Hall of Fans is to discover, elevate, and celebrate greatness in sports fandom. “Greatness” can be defined by a number of attributes: loyalty, passion, impact, just to name a few. At its core, the Hall of Fans honors those who have gone above and beyond in their careers as fans.
In July 2012, thousands applied for a seat in our inaugural class.
In August, ten finalists were selected by our judging panel.
In the final ten days of the month, an open vote was held to determine the Hall’s first three members.
On September 5, 2012, we announced our first-ever inductees, The Green Men, Captain Dee-Fense, and Emily Pitek. A ceremony was held to honor them in Bristol, CT on September 19, 2012.
