I was asked to write and produce a 2 min long lifestyle video for X Games Consumer Products. The goal was to show a wide variety of X Games products in a real life setting. I chose to tell the story of three young friends who are avid action sports fans. They exchange texts and meet up at the mega ramp at the Summer X Games in LA.
This video was to be used as an introductory teaser for ESPN licensee meetings with clients such as Amazon.com among several others. I worked with a fantastic tight knit team and we all had a lot of fun putting it together. In addition to writing and casting, I oversaw the final editing and music selection. This was a soup to nuts project shot in 2 days in various spots in and around Los Angeles.
The internal client was so pleased with the results that they asked to convert the two minute video into three different on-air commercials used in South American markets.

I was asked to develop a logo for Real Snow, a new fan based video initiative for Winter X Games. Following the success of this past summer’s Skateboard Real Street, the first video-only contest at X Games, ESPN added Snowboard Real Snow to the Winter X Games 15 held January 27-30, 2010. XGames.com/realsnow will host the videos of eight of the world’s best snowboarders competing for prize money and medals. All videos will air during the Winter X Games telecast. Like the Real Street competition, Real Snow athletes were given the opportunity to team with an editor to partner on the production of the video and present their vision, their way. A new medal event for X Games 16, Real Street was the first contest of
its kind. Twelve of the top individual pros in street skating each
filmed 60-second video parts on street terrain for X Games, and on Aug.
1, all 12 video parts aired on the final day of the X Games 16 telecast. A
panel of pros -- Pat Duffy, Ed Templeton, Jamie Thomas and Geoff Rowley
-- chose the winning part and awarded $50,000 and an X Games gold medal
to Nick Trapasso. Check some of the amazing videos out by clicking here.
